Step 4: Request STEM Ambassador support

If you would like STEM Ambassador support for a particular topic, event or activity, but are unable to find a suitable offer, you can post an activity on to the STEM Ambassador platform to advertise what you are looking for to our volunteers. Ambassadors are then able to browse these opportunities and contact you directly to make the necessary arrangements.

There are a number of different roles that STEM Ambassador can take on to support your school, college or community group. Below you will find examples of effective activity postings that will appeal to volunteers, which can be used as guides for your own posts, alongside a guide for making an activity posting. Postings should be friendly, supportive and give all of the information necessary to encourage individuals to volunteer with you.

Please note that activity postings should be made 6-8 weeks before the required date to increase the chance of successful recruitment. STEM Ambassadors are not trained teachers and are not able to deliver the curriculum. They are there to enhance learning, inspire pupils, and show them how what they learn in the classroom links to the real world.
